A 5-week course which explores the essential watercolour techniques to get you started on your creative watercolour journey. Who is this course for? This course is designed for complete beginners or those with some experience. You may have just started out in watercolour and are finding it challenging! Or used watercolours for a while and would value a refresher. This course will break it down into simple easy steps and help you master the essential techniques to enjoy this versatile medium. Each session will start with an exploration of techniques and a demonstration along with hints and tips. We will then put what has been learnt into practice by completing simple exercises and a finished piece of artwork. Subjects covered will be features within scenery and simple landscapes. Materials paint and paper will be provided. I will support you and advise you on purchasing your own watercolours as the course goes on. You will need to bring: Winsor and Newton Medium Kneaded Putty Rubber which can be purchased from Skipton Art shop or online. Please check in advance if they have them in stock. Any watercolour brushes you already have. I will provide a round size 12 brush for students. If you are new to watercolour and need brushes then I can get you started. About your tutor: Amanda Beck is an artist with a passion for sketching on location. Her favourite media is watercolour and she loves to share her enthusiasm and expertise with others so they can enjoy the benefit of this versatile medium. If you cancel your course or class less than 14 clear days before the start date, refunds will be given at the discretion of Craven Arts.
