Service Description

An Introduction to Lino Printing Lino Printing is a relief printing process. It is a form of fine art printing and can include simple design work or complex intricate artwork. Printmaking covers a variety of methods. These include Block or Relief printing to Intaglio printing techniques. This short course will introduce you to the relief printmaking process, using the lino printing method. Lino printing is a form printmaking where the printing plate is cut into lino. The lino is then inked, a piece of paper placed over it, and then run through a printing press or pressure applied by hand to transfer the ink to the paper. The result, a linocut print. The course will: - Teach you the basic principles of lino printmaking - Develop your understanding of printmaking processes. - Develop your drawing and design work - Introduce you to artists who work with printmaking All materials and equipment are provided by Craven Arts and included in the course fees. Heather Boxall is a Fine Art Practitioner and Stained Glass artist. Qualified to MA level in the Fine Arts, Heather has over 20 years experience teaching Art and Design courses at various levels. Formally an art tutor at Skipton Girls High School, Heather later went onto to teach in Further and Higher Education.

Cancellations, refunds and exchanges: If you cancel your course or class 14 clear days or more before the start date, you will receive a full refund. If you cancel your course or class less than 14 clear days before the start date, refunds will be given at the discretion of Craven Arts. No refunds or partial refunds will be given once the course has started. Craven Arts reserves the right to make alterations to the published details course as necessary and/or cancel the course. In the event that the course has to be cancelled or rescheduled, we will attempt to contact you with as much notice as possible and you will receive a full refund. Craven Arts cannot take responsibility for any of your travel and other costs and/or expenses associated with your attendance or planned attendance of the course (including in the event of changes or cancellation by the Craven Arts). You cannot resell or transfer your place at the course or class without the Craven Arts consent.
